Custom Injection Molding Machine

Injection molding machine demonstrating an 18 gram shot through 4 valve gates of an integrated hot manifold. Machines operate using an entirely different process than conventional injection molding machines. This leads to the small size, modest power requirements (less than 1.5kw/hrs of 220v single phase), instant start-up (no purging) and no experience required to operate it and compete globally on cost. THIEME Corporation, St. Charles, IL. www.thieme-us.com. Basic Reaction Injection Molding Operation showing rigid light density foam encapsulation of metal inserts for an automotive application (EA knee bolster). Use of robot technology and several endforms are used. The video shows the basic premise of RIM polyurethane foam molding. We specialize in large format RIM molding and have capabiliy to make single shot parts up to 75 lbs in a single shot (or 6′ x 6′ x 2′). With our higher density foam systems, such as Prism, Bayflex or Baydur products, this is an excellent process for medical device enclosures, analytical housings and structural parts needing low annual volume production (200-20000 parts per year). This video shows an automotive part that is mid to high volume in annual use (1000-1000000 parts per year). Learn more about our large format part molding, multi-wall thickness molding materials and impact RIM materials, write Mike at our E-mail address of: my@thieme-us.com or call Michael Young 248-628-2930. Get lost you idiot. This is rubish! Just a robot working .

  • mypur:

    Reaction Injection Molding (RIM) is using the polyol and isocyante raw materials and “injecting” them into a mold cavity. This starts an isothermic reaction causing the materials to “foam” and fill the mold cavity when the tool is closed. In this case the process begins with the tool open (for an open pour application).

    Give me a call if you would like to learn more about Reaction Injection Molding using Polyurethane materials either in a closed or an open injection application.

    @BunkyOhare

    We are working a new video that will do just that for you. Please watch for our forthcoming video this spring.

    Esto no es injection ….

  • BunkyOhare:

    Why dont you cut out the music and tell us the process stage by stage. I worked on injection moulding machines 40 yrs ago but know very little about this process.

  • mypur:

    Yes we currently mold about 6,000 bumpers a year out of this technology and material. Call me to learn more about this at: Thieme Corporation, St. Charles, IL 248-628-2930. Mike Young

    You can also see larger parts being made on my other video call “Reaction Injection Molding (RIM) and Polyurethane (PUR) “

  • boahx:

    can you make front bumpers out of this
    Reaction Injection Molding/??? ty

  • Walls3854:

    Our company also makes gear pumps systems for RIM applications and that feed the mold and are installed in the robot arm.

    Great Video!
